Sunday School
Kids are not only the future of the church. They are an important part of the church right now! The St. Barnabas Sunday School provides spiritual encouragement and familiarizes children with biblical teachings in a casual and fun environment. The program uses the "Seasons of the Spirit" curriculum and is led by volunteers. The Sunday School program follows the liturgical seasons of the church and runs from September to June each year. Visitors, newcomers, and friends are always welcome. For 2020-2021, Sunday School teachers have been providing special activity kits for families in the parish so they can safely learn about the Bible and keep in touch with the faith community from home.
Youth Group
The St. Barnabas Youth Group provides adolescents an opportunity to explore issues of faith, life, and culture in a safe and nurturing environment. Adult volunteers lead faith-based discussions based discussions with the group every week. Social events are also an important part of the Youth Group's time together. Currently, a weekly Youth Bible Study is being hosted via Zoom. New members and visitors are always welcome!
Messy Church
The St. Barnabas Messy Church ministry offers a fun and casual opportunity for families with young children to share in fellowship with others, enjoy crafts, activities, Bible stories, songs, prayers, and a home cooked meal together! Messy Church events are normally held at St. Barnabas three times a year and are open to everyone in the neighbourhood. Stay tuned for information about the next Messy Church event.
Nursery
The most recent addition to the St. Barnabas church building includes a small nursery room. It is located near the entrance to the worship space and is ideal for infants and toddlers and parents to take a break. Children must be supervised by a responsible adult when using the nursery room.
